Best December EVER!!!

December 2010 was by far one of the busiest and best. Trent, after years and years of hard work, graduated with his Master's in Business. We of course are super excited to finally have more time to spend together. He is still working hard and staying busy with church. Although he has a lot to keep him busy, he always finds time to play with the kids.
After graduation we went to Disney World and had the best family trip ever! Both sets of grandparents were there, so adults actually outnumbered kids for the trip...a very rare occurrence.

More Beach Fun!

Back by Popular Demand---An Update

I guess the good news is that it took me less than 6 months to update my blog...
We went to the beach a few weeks ago with some friends and absolutely loved it. Trent, Philip, and Jade (our friend) went snorkeling. The kids had a lot of fun too. We saw all sorts of animals like blue shell crabs, sand dollars, horseshoe crabs, and sea urchins. I hope you enjoy the pics and the mini update!

HEADLINE NEWS
School and Work canceled...SNOW!!!
To all of my Utah family, you'll need to sit down for this one...school was canceled today because it snowed. Oh and Trent is off of work because of the snow too! My life is awesome! I think this is why we live in the South. We get to enjoy the snow once every ten years and then school and work get canceled. Hooray!


We went outside and played this morning and even made a snowman because there was a ton of snow...at least in Alabama terms. At first we thought we might need to make a minature snowman, but then it kept snowing and snowing. So it ended up being bigger than the kids! As you can see the snowman naturally looks like part of the family with the big smile, the twig arms and the mohawk.


After playing outside we came in for some hot chocolate and got all of the kids changed. After changing kids, cleaning up water, and realizing I have double the laundry I am actually very grateful that I don't live somewhere that it snows all of the time. To all of you who do live where it snows I want you to know that you are amazing! We love the snow...once every ten years...or when we are on vacation.

Our beautiful kids; Jenika, Harmony, Isaac, and Kaisha. As anyone could guess I am staying really busy these days. That combined with the fact that I am a slacker is the reason why I have not updated since Kaisha was born. So I will just give a brief run through of what has been going on around here lately. Kaisha is doing good and she is such a sweet baby. When she was born the doctor and nurses had to give her a hard time to make her cry and then when she did cry it was just a sweet little wimper. The doctor commented that she was such a calm and quiet baby. To which I replied...are you sure because we don't make quiet babies at our house.
Isaac is doing good. He is in the process of potty training, which is a lot of fun. He keeps reminding me that he is a big boy and he can do it all by himself.
Harmony...dear sweet Harmony. So on Sunday I was home with the kids because they were sick. Jenika came to me a couple of times and told me that there was something that I needed to see. I was taking care of Kaisha and told her to wait for a minute. The third time she came back I was a little frustrated with her until she said, "Just look under the table". So from where I was sitting I looked and found Harmony, a pair of scissors, and a pile of hair. The good news is she kept it pretty even :)
Jenika is doing great. She is in Kindergarten and she loves school. She is reading and writing full sentences. On Sunday, after the hair cutting incident, I was getting Kaisha ready for bed and the kids were playing...or at least that is what I thought. I finished up with Kaisha and Jenika came in my room and told me to come with her. So I followed her to her room. When I got there she said, "Suprise we cleaned our room to tell you thank you for cooking us food all of the time". Of course being my mothers daughter I tried not to cry and told her thank you.
As for me, there is not a lot to report. I'm doing just fine and staying busy with the kids.
Trent is staying busy with work, school, and church. He is currently taking two classes and he is amazing. Somehow he is able to balance everything and keep the wife happy too!
Anyway that is the basics of what is going on around here. Sorry it has been so long since I have updated but better late than never I guess!!!

Fun Weekend Away

Just over a week ago, we took our first real family vacation this year and went to Atlanta. Trent needed to attend the youth temple trip, so we decided to make a weekend of it. We left early on Friday and surprised the kids and went to the Georgia Aquarium. They were so excited when we got there! All of the kids (including Trent and I) were just amazed with all of the things they had at the aquarium. After we went to the aquarium we met up with some of our friends and went to dinner and then to a hotel for the night.
The next morning we were able to go to the temple and do a session together while our friends watched the kids for us...thank you Mitchells :) It was a great weekend and we just wanted to share a few pictures with everyone.

Two of a Kind

This morning we were making Valentine's Day cookies and making cards for Trent. We made a bunch of cookies and decided that it would be a great idea to bring them to Trent's work to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. Well by the time we got everything ready to go, we had to race out the door to make it before everyone would be leaving from work. As I tried to keep everything together, I gave special instructions to the girls..."go potty, get shoes on, get in the van". Which I repeated over and over again until miraculously we all managed to get into the van. Jenika climbed in first and was buckled up in a flash. I put Isaac in while Harmony was climbing into the van. I asked her if she had followed my instructions to which she replied, "yes." I looked at her pink Sunday shoe as she climbed into the van and figured, although it doesn't match her blue dress at least we will make it to give out cookies in time. Then I buckled her up. So we arrived just in time and my wonderful husband came to help me unload the kids and cookies. That is when he asked Harmony where her other pink shoe was. Then he asked me. I assumed she had taken it off while we drove over so I asked if he had looked on the floor. That is when he got a little more specific and asked me if I had a match to either her pink Sunday shoe or her pink flip flop...she was wearing one of each. It was so funny because I had not even noticed until Trent had asked me about it. So we got to walk all around the campus to wish Happy Valentine's Day and we also gave everyone a good laugh.

Oh, BOY!!!

I know this will come as a total shock to everyone...2 updates in less than 30 days, but this update was just too good to pass up. As you are all aware we have 2 girls and 1 boy. Many people have asked us if we have noticed a difference between boys and girls to which we have replied, "YES!". Well another difference manifested itself today when we took Isaac to the doctors to have his arm looked at after climbing up on the computer chair and falling off. It happened late afternoon on Wednesday and ever since then he has been really careful with his left arm, so we decided that we better have it looked at. Well the doctor was super nice and even before the x-ray predicted that Isaac had a buckle fracture near his wrist. So after the x-ray, the doctor showed me the results.....drum roll please.....not just one but two bones had been fractured. Yes there is a difference between boys and girls, something about the fact that he is not even one yet and he is sporting a blue cast on his left arm that reminds me every time I look at him. ;)

Better Late Than Never

I have so much to say, but so little time to say it. We are doing great. We just got back from a trip to Utah for Christmas break. It was a surprise for both of out parents and it was wonderful! We spent 3 weeks in Utah and enjoyed every minute of it. The kids loved the snow and being outside. During the break we also celebrated our 7 year anniversary...WOW, 7 years!!! It is amazing how fast time has gone.
Well, today I will just share a few recent stories.
Last Saturday my wonderful Mom called. I could only talk for a second because I had to get the kids fed because we had the adult session of stake conference that night. So as we sat down to eat, one of the girls spilled their red Cool-aid and it went all over my jacket and shirt...my skirt was a dark color so you couldn't see it. So I raced in my room changed my clothes and threw my shirt and jacket in with a batch of laundry that was waiting to be started. At the time I thought it was a wonderful idea because I didn't want my clothes to get stained. That night after stake conference we were driving home and Trent asked me something about my phone........that was when I realized that it was in my jacket pocket...in the washer. Oops! So now I need to go find a new phone. I guess I've learned my lesson, I should never wash clothes. ;)
Next story...
Last night we were sitting at the dinner table and Trent was teasing the kids. Jenika was saying that he was a silly daddy and I turned to her and said, "he is such a silly daddy, where did you find him?" to which she started laughing and replied,"I didn't find him, you did!" We just laughed and laughed.

Here is a picture of us killing time during our layover in New Mexico. As you can tell they were playing train. We walked all over the airport like this and people would just walk past and start smiling.

An Update...Finally

Oh, where to start, where to start? It has been way too long since we have updated our blog, so I am sure this will come as a surprise to everyone. I guess we will start with the youngest.
Isaac is about 6 1/2 months old and I can honestly say he is the sweetest boy I have ever had. He has started to get up on his hands and knees and can now scoot to get to things. He is getting so big. At his doctors appointment they told us he was in the 80th percentile for height and the 20th percentile for weight. Which just lets you know that he is built like his Daddy...tall and skinny.
Harmony is 2 years old already! She is a total girl and loves to dress up. I think her goal in life right now is to wear a dress every single day. Hmmm...so far, so good. We like to call her our Little Curly Lou Lou. Try putting a comb through those curly locks. Harmony loves to sing and the most recent favorite is Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam. Which she includes the little jump at each 'sunbeam'. Jenika is 4 years old now. Time has passed so fast! She loves to practice writing her letters and reading. Another one of her favorite things is to have big girl time with Mom and go grocery shopping. She is becoming more and more like Mom everyday and it shows when we go shopping and she asks if the Cheetos are on sale because she wants to buy some.
Sara is/was 25 when she stopped counting because she got too busy. As many Mom's will understand, multitasking is the only way to go...carry the child, do the laundry, and get a workout all at the same time for one low price.
Trent is...well, we will just say he is the oldest and leave it at that. He is the most popular man in the world! He has just started another class at Troy University and he is working on getting his Master's in Business Administration. Even with so many things going on he still puts his family first.

We as the Murray Family are taking a big step in life. We are purchasing our first home. We are very excited and we be closing on the home on March 28, 2008. If you wish to see pictures of the house to be, look to the next blog.
